Over the past few weeks since school has began, we here at Casa Miani have settled back into our scheduled activities including Saturday sessions. The first of which was on Leadership and was facilitated by Social Worker Maclyn Diamos and Peace Corps Volunteer Tyler Pickle.
We identified characteristics of leaders.
Practiced our leadership skills.
And as always, played lots of games.
We had serious discussions about where we need to improve as leaders.
And learned about our abilities as leaders.
We also had some visitors recently to help us out with an HIV/AIDS training for the same group of High School boys. Three Youth Volunteer Educators from Red Cross Cebu joined us for a morning to introduce us to the facts about HIV and how we can prevent the spread of it to ourselves and to our community.
Our boys listened with great focus.
They too used games to teach lessons.
And we made a new partner in educating the youth of the Philippines!
